S-228 passes 2nd reading vote in the House of Commons

On February 14, 2018, S-228 passed the 2nd reading vote in the House of Commons with 220 Members of Parliament voting for the bill and 86 against.   It has been sent to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Health which has 45 days to study the bill.  S-228 was sponsored by Senator Raine.  It prohibits the marketing of unhealthy food and beverages to children and youth under 17 years of age.  In September 2017,  the bill was passed unanimously by the Senate.
